Motivation

Today was a very interesting day, I woke up and I realized that I had come down with the symptoms of a very bad cold. In which I mean that I was terribly unmotivated to do anything. I wasn't sick. All I wanted to do was sit around the house and stare out the window all day. This wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't Friday.

Saturday, great.
Sunday, wonderful.
Monday, resentful.
Tuesday, recovering.
Wednesday, mumbling.
Thursday, growling
Friday, death

By school of course. The workload of things to do always seems to land its big butt on the last day of the week. Understand what I am saying? I could not take any of the day off. It was the perfect day for it too, the clouds were coming in and now it is pleasantly raining out. Good day to just go back to bed and start over in the morning.

There was still that tiny little problem that made it that I couldn't do it. School. So, I wandered around the house, as Mom got up and left to do productive things. I sat on a bar stool in the kitchen watching and sighed.

Who would have known that this would be the most productive morning that I would have all week? Not me! Trust me, the last thing on my mind was to get a lot of things done on my to-do list. Yet amazingly, I did.

I did a English quiz (I aced it), an math review, practiced piano and read most of a history lesson. All in about two-three hours. Pretty good for me.

Anyways, I better get back to it. I have to finish reading the history and then read through my teacher's note on the subject. Though the subject is interesting to me so it should be fun.

Dragon Doodle

Found this guy stomping around on my essay about religions. He's about an inch high by inch long, born from an ink pen.

A Man in a Hut

Right now I could go into the fact that I have been busy, between school, my personal life and my job to even think of updating this. I could go into of all the times that I have sat here and stared at this empty box of text.

But I won't.

You wanna know why?

Because we're all busy. No matter if we live in a hut in the middle of a forest or in a high rise in New York City. The man in the hut has to hunt for food and the New Yorker has to make enough money to pay for his fancyshmancy apartment that he lives in. Me? I'm just your typical teenager attempting to find the point between fun and drudgery. A tad but hard.

Anyways, life moves on. The picture in this post is of a candle that I got a couple weeks ago.  It smells of birthday cake. Seriously, it smells just like that holiday. I did get a picture of Zoey, that is now in the pet section and possibly a new picture of Quin.

Well, that's it for my post. School is a-calling and there is lot of things that have to happen before then!

The Goal for the Weekend

Its the funniest thing. As you have noticed I have been very much touch and go on this blog, mostly because of tests and whatnot. But I am getting more hits than ever, last week I had over fourty hits and I haven't posted anything in a while! Life is funny that way isn't it?

Anyways, my goal this weekend is to get a good picture of Zoe. She's quite camera shy so to get a picture of her is going to be next to impossible. But there is always that 1% chance.

Wish me luck!

The Mysteries Of My Life

Had had all these great ideas that I wanted to blog about, I thought about them for hours and figured out what I wanted to say but guess what? When I sit down here to write about them I realize that I can't think of a single thing.

Their probably been eaten by everything else in my head, like, English, Algebra, and maybe possibly World History. Who knew that my life could eat my ideas? Maybe its the dragons that have been swirling around in my head for the past couple days.

Ah the mysteries of life. This I wonder about, where does all those good ideas that we think that we have suddenly disappear when you wake up the next morning?

Plots for stories never written, schoolwork, states and capitals, names, and all that stuff. Where does that stuff go? Ideas anybody?

Petsmart with an Added Addition of Life

The World History test that has been eating my life for the past couple days is now over, what a relief. I think I did well on it, I hope, though the results aren't back yet. It was really annoying because being enrolled in a means I have to go to the nearest collage testing center.

Don't get me wrong, that's not what I mean when say that, it's annoying when you have a teenager behind you mumbling and moaning and so on. Luckily I was done with my test and I was just looking over the answers. It was annoying, having someone tapping their pencils against their desks. We were the only ones in the room too!

Anyways, after that, we went over to pet smart and these creatures were just begging to have their pictures taken. Those are the pictures that are decorating this post.

Do you see what I'm saying? They just had to be taken! Even though that man came up later and told me not too...I really like the lizard, he just looks so proud. He was enjoying the heat from the lamp above.

Got to go back to work now!

Food for Thought

Last night I had the best food that I had ever eaten. No, that is not a exaggeration or a myth. It is a cold hard fact. I do count in all those meals that I ate at all those stuffed up fancy restaurants and the wonderful stuff at the ice cream parole that makes that kind of ice cream that just melts in your mouth like no tomorrow. This is what I am talking about. The food that feds the soul, the stuff that you would wish that you could eat after your long past gone. The stuff of legends. This, my friends, is what I am talking about.

Rosemary-Orange Pork Chops and Lemon-Butter Broccoli

Tell me, doesn't that just sound good? I think, it sounds better than anything on a bun. It all started by my mother recruiting me to zest the lemon and the smashing all the juice out. Then watching enchanted at the the oven was filled to the brim with boiling and simmering pots. Their scents dashing throughout the house, carrying the smell of lemon and orange.

Fine kill me if you want. Its a Rachel Ray dish, but I must say. She knows how to make a killer pork chops, yes?

Well after slaving over the zest and juice. I went to work on the parsley. It was so green and vibrant I just had to take a picture of it. I munched on my first (raw) parsley as I happily chopped up the rest. Day dreaming, as an consumer of food would, how all these different things and plants were going to interact.

The goodies later went in with some rosemary orange concoction and then in the every every end dived in and made a place right next to the chops.

The broccoli (or broccolini depending if your Rachel Ray or not) went through my knife next turning into strips. Then they went and had a dance in some water until they're bright green and just right. Then in some magical way that I didn't catch got infused (is that the right word?) with the lemon zest.

In the end they were a little powerful for me but they still tasted really good.

Finally after a few more minutes of me hovering behind my mother asking her, "Will it be ready soon? Will it be ready now?" We sat down and ate the meal. There was no words to describe such a refreshing new meal. So I will give you the picture that will speak a thousand words, then I will go off to skip down some road of any color to daydream of having the Rosemary-Orange Pork Chops and Lemon-Butter Broccoli once again.

Holidays Blues

The holidays have wined down and regular life has settled back down. All that built up joy and fun cools down for another year as school/jobs/life begins. Somehow you have to wonder what it would be like if it was one big party all the time. I think that it would get boring after a while.

Doing the same thing over every day has become a comfort. You know what's going to happen every day. It must sound weird. It must sound boring. But I can find time to explore what I really want to do with my life. I thrive on it.

We took down the Christmas tree a few days ago, I took pictures as we were doing it. Wrapping up the lights. Trash bagging up the tree and hauling it up stairs for another year.

Many of the ornaments have stories and ideas attached to them. Some remind me of friends, some who left me behind in the dust to pursue what they wanted to do. Their ornaments that I bought the year before for them now hang on my tree instead of theirs. I still smile as I remember all the good times, though in my heart I still remember the day clearly when I realized that we had drifted apart.

Others better memories, a man made out of multi-colored balls, strung together by metal. Most of the balls cracked or shattered. His printed face still smiling up at me with the same joy. This was the toy that I played with went I was a kid, dancing him up and down the branches of the tree. Meeting new friends, discovering the lights, and even having parties. Nothing sometimes compares to rediscovering what you discovered when you were little.

My time to write is winding down and school is started to glare at me, I better go now!

Happy New Year

I always freak out at the thought of a new year, it's true. I do. Though most of the time I don't show it. It boils up inside of me like whispering, "another year is going by Brightfrost, sometime that you'll never get back, what are you going to do about that Brightfrost? You even getting older too."  But it be honest it's just like alot of things, going on stage to dance for one thing, you freak out backstage but once your on, you don't even have a shadow of a doubt in your mind.

That's what happened this morning when I woke up, I sighed and realized that it was just another day. Funny how we can make such big deals out of such little things? Yesterday, we went out to eat at a pancake spot and I enjoyed to seriously good strawberry pancakes. I think the waiter thought that I was a little crazy drawing in my notebook as my family talks around me. They know that I will participate in the conversation if there is something that I need/want to talk about.

After that we went shopping and crashed at the bookstore. After that we went to see Sherlock Holmes. It was good, not great but good. It held my attention for a few hours but I wasn't riveted. The plot within the plot was good though.

The music was  really annoying.

That plus the guy in front of me kept balling his paper sack making as much noise as possible.

That's all today.

Bears are Awesome for Christmas

I know that I haven't been blogging but I just returned from the holidays. Here is how it when down.

Friday-Drove up to my Grandma's house and went to church
Saturday-Enjoyed the day, relaxed with family and friends then went home
Sunday-own personal Christmas

It was all pretty cool, I wished for a white Christmas and Santa must have been looking for something to do because now we have about five inches of the white stuff. I even walked the dogs, it wasn't that bad, a little on the cold side mind you be otherwise pretty nice. Making a snowman is still on the list. I would like to make a dragon out of snow but there isn't enough snow for that.

Oh well....
I also got some amazing Christmas gifts, including a DSi, and a book that I really wanted (that's another post).

But what I wanted to talk about was this book that I got for Christmas. It's called "Bear Portraits" by Jill Greensberg. I spotted the book from a mile away from the center hall. A second later I was enchanted by the pure quality of the bears in the 104 pages book. They were all from such a different perspective then what most people see. Yes, they still have the cute fuzzy teddy bears...

Merry Christmas!

Thanks and merry christmas!

Its Raining Cats and Dogs, but mostly Dogs

Seriously, sometimes things can be fun in the craziest ways. Like today, it was raining cats and dogs. Any reasonable person would stay home and when they see someone walking out in it they would say: "Boy, it's raining so hard out side why would anybody in their right mind want to walk in this weather?"
That person would be correct, no one on their right mind would be walking. Unless you are me. Walking the downpour. With the Rebel and Satchel. No sign of an umbrella. Singing Christmas songs. Yep, that would be me. But to think about it. It's my job, but also I do it for them. The dogs must of been giving me death glares but there was nothing that I could do. But, I did what I could to make them happier by singing to them to attempt to keep their spirits up. I haven't had any response to see if my off tune and horse voice worked.
I personally doubt it though.

I'll tell you if I get a woofing ovation next time I do it.

Holly Day Card

This is a Holiday (yes, I can spell it) Card for a friend. Every year I draw a card for my best friend who likes dragons as much as I do. We role play with each other now allot of the time and its really really fun. Basically its two writers going head to head, clashing their plots together and watching the sparks fly. This is one of her characters, Miyuki. A happy go-lucky dragon (as you can tell) that can have fun anywhere.
I like how is turned out, this is my first attempt at snow and I think it turned out okay. Yay!

I wish it would snow so I could go sledding...

Owls of Quirkiness

I went wandering with a friend a few days ago, after stopping and sipping a beverage in 30-28 degree weather...outside. We talked about Christmas and presents, I'm got her a really awesome gift, but I can say because she read this! I want one, but that reminds me, I have to wrap it still!

Anyways, after that, we wandered into a wonderful shop filled with nick nacks that could fill your house to the brim and make your wallet cry out for mercy. You get my point. Armed with a camera I came across these really cool ornaments. They were the size of my fist and really quite me-like.

They just had this great quality of spunkiness and handmadeness to them. The place wasn't that busy and I could snap some pictures when the lady at the cash register wasn't looking. Shhhhhhhhhhh....don't rat me out!  I like the beads for eyes and the nose/beak. Its so simple and understated.

There were so many cool things there, plates made of paper, a cool bird thing, and a dragon kite! I want one of those things....but alas I am a bit to cheap to spend 65 dollars on a hand painted kite.

Don't get me wrong I really really liked it though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life goes on...I guess....

Signing off for the day,

The Author

As anybody can guess, I am old enough to write and to understand something about the world. Though not everything, there is always another thing to learn, comprehend, and apply. I write, and I try to do it often. But life does get in the way (*cough-school-*cough*) so things do get in the way. I used to be an active member of Fan Fiction, and I going to be soon. I hope at least.

I draw, allot. More than a normal human. Dragons, humans, still life, it all enchants me and I strive to be able to draw realistically. Hopefully I'll get there. Someday....

I have two wonderful parents, and an awesome bunny. My friends are wonderful and understanding, I wouldn't be who I am without of them. They really inspire me and lift me up when things are on the rougher side.

So, I hope you enjoy this blog.

About this Blog

Simply to state, this is the life, in essence of Brightfrost. I blog about any or everything that happens in my life. May it be sad, happy or joyous. As any human being knows, life has it swings and turns and often I am not able to keep up with my life and this blog. That is why the archive has big gaps in it. Interesting isn't it?

I hope you enjoy a bit of look at this strange mess of thoughts, ideas, hopes, dreams, and the creatures around me.

Pets

My Pets

Quin

Quinhywvar (quin-HA-var), but since no one knows how to spell it/pronounce it, Quin became her nickname. She is a dwarf bunny about four pounds and she has filled every ounce of that with her spunkyness. Little did I know when I got her she would be the attitude full, bouncy white and black puff of fur that I had ever had. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
Her birthday is February, 21, 2009.

Zoe

Our family has adopted a dog, a small, little eleven pound chiwawa/rat terrier. She is sweet as can be and should have a golden medal for Best Lap Dog award. She hates having her picture taken

Her birthday is, December, 15, 2007

The Other Dogs

My job is a dogwalker, these are my dogs that I walk. I have grow seriously close to both of them, to the degree that I (and my family) calls them my "boyfriends".

Rebel

Rebel is mini sheltie, and has a very interesting personality, mostly he thinks that he is king of the world. Which at his house, he is. A retired show dog, he loves to prance and be the center of attention. Of course, he was (and still is) deeply offended that I added Satchel to our pack a few months later. He's really sweet under all that pride.

Satchel

Satchel is a big puppy dog and the polar oppisite of Rebel. He loves to play. Sometime when I first arrive and he know that we are going for a walk he'll dance for me, jumping up and down, wiggling and just being a plain happy dog. He's a Lab and weights enough to knock me over. Luckly he isn't aware of his strength or else I would have a dislocated shoulder.

Yes, I know

As family things came up other things (aka: this blog) had to be pressed down to be able to handle everything in my daily life. Then school hit like tital wave like this "swoosh" and then...my laptop (the life of Brightfrost) died. But I could see it coming and backed up all my files before hand. Yay me.

All I have time to think about is anything besides the big four: eat. sleep. school. bunny.

...as you can see...blogging is not there. *weak smile*

Well, here I go again blogging right before I go out of town. >.<

I have tacked up a little sign saying if I'm in town or not.

just A little update before my computer dies for lack of battery... :D
